Overview
Zaha Hadid Architects is seeking a Junior Analyst / Architect Analyst to join our Environmental & Sustainability team based in our London office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior architect with strong environmental design expertise to support the integration of innovative sustainability strategies within our design projects.
The role will involve supporting the senior team with research, environmental analysis, and report production across a wide range of project stages. You’ll contribute to shaping sustainable design outcomes through data-driven insights, parametric modelling, and high-quality visual communication.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about architecture, environmental performance, and digital design tools, with either one year of relevant experience or an exceptional postgraduate portfolio.
Main responsibilities
• Support the integration of sustainable and environmentally responsive design strategies into projects
• Prepare and contribute to high-quality sustainability reports and environmental analysis packages
• Collaborate with the Environmental & Sustainability team to develop supporting data and visual materials (e.g. simulations, diagrams)
• Contribute to sustainability certifications and manage simpler submissions under supervision
• Assist with performance-driven façade design and optimisation using parametric tools
Skills Required
Environmental Analysis
• Knowledge of sustainable design strategies and building performance principles
• Ability to carry out daylight, solar, wind comfort, energy modelling, and life cycle assessments
• Proficiency in environmental simulation tools and parametric workflows (e.g. Rhino + Grasshopper)
• Experience creating high-quality graphics and reports using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Knowledge of sustainability certifications such as LEED or BREEAM
• Basic understanding of materials and construction performance
• Programming skills with Python or C#, and experience with PowerBI for data representations, are a plus.
3D Modelling and Visualisation
• Strong Rhino and Grasshopper skills, with the ability to build custom parametric algorithms
• Experience in 3D visualisation and rendering (e.g. V-Ray, Twinmotion, Enscape)
• Experience with interactive virtual environments (e.g. Unreal Engine, 3DVista) is desirable
Communication
• Confident presenting work at project level and communicating technical ideas clearly
• Strong written communication and report writing skills
• Fluent in English; additional languages a plus for international projects
Desired skills and qualifications
• Part I qualified architect or equivalent
• Postgraduate degree in Sustainable Design, Environmental Analysis, or Computational Design with sustainability focus.
• LEED Green Associate / LEED AP (BD+C) or equivalent certification (preferred)
• Minimum one year of experience in practice; exceptional recent graduates will also be considered
• Must have the right to work in the UK
